Which frame size do I need for my paint by numbers kit?
Our kits come in 16" × 20" and 20" × 28", so pick the matching frame size. If you are framing another canvas, measure it and choose the same dimensions from the size list.
Is the frame hard to assemble?
No. The solid wood bars slot together into a rectangle, then you center your canvas, fold the edges around and secure them at the back. Most people finish in 10 to 15 minutes with no special tools.
Should I stretch the canvas before or after painting?
Both work, but most painters find it easier to paint first on a flat surface and stretch the finished canvas afterwards. Stretching after also protects the paint from cracking during assembly.
Does the canvas come with the frame?
No, this kit contains the wooden stretcher bars only. It is designed to mount the canvas from your paint by numbers kit or any unstretched canvas you already own.
How does the finished result look on the wall?
Once stretched, the canvas sits taut and flat with clean wrapped edges, the same gallery style look you see in home decor stores. You can hang it as is, no outer frame needed.
Can I use it for a custom photo canvas?
Yes. Our custom paint by numbers canvases are printed on the same standard sizes, so the matching stretcher frame fits perfectly.
