Should I choose the 5X or the 10X model?
The 5X with 28 LEDs is perfect for most kits and everyday detail work. Choose the 10X with 56 LEDs if you paint 48 color kits, very small cells or do other precision crafts.
How does it stay in place while I paint?
A sturdy clamp fixes the lamp to your table or board (up to about 1.2" thick). The arm and lens then rotate 360 degrees, so the magnified, lit view sits exactly over your canvas while both hands stay free.
Can I adjust the light?
Yes. You can switch between 3 color modes (white, warm white and warm) and dim the brightness from 10% to 100%, so it works in daylight or late night sessions.
Is the lens real glass?
Yes. Both models use a real glass lens (2.28" on the 5X, 3.27" on the 10X) for a clear, distortion free view, unlike cheap acrylic magnifiers.
Does it help with eye strain?
That is exactly what it is for. Magnifying the small numbered cells and lighting them evenly means you stop squinting and leaning in, which keeps long painting sessions comfortable.
Can I use it for other hobbies?
Yes. It is equally popular for reading, needlework, puzzles, model building, nail art and any close up work that needs light and magnification.
